DR. WELLS SPONSORS A CHILD SAFETY EVENT | Dr. Susan D. Wells, a dentist in Warrior, brought the DNA LifePrint Child Safety program to the families of the North Jefferson community. She sponsored the Child Safety Event on September 26, 2009, in her practice, 309 Louisa Street in Warrior, Alabama. This event is part of the DNA LifePrint Child Safety Alliance, a national program designed to reach millions of children across the nation. The program was endorsed by John Walsh, American’s trusted name in fighting crime. Aida Rodriguez from DNA LifePrint assisted each child with a biometric 10 digit fingerprint profile, high resolution digital photograph of the child, a child safety journal, and a home DNA identification kit. Parents will keep all these vital tools and use them to provide to the Law Enforcement when the child is reported missing. This DNA Legacy Kit will greatly increase their chance to quickly recovering their child. Also joining the event were Safe Kids Alabama on child safety in car seats and the American Red Cross who gave valuable safety tips and information. Dr. Wells, her staff, and the Tooth Fairy welcomed parents and their children to the practice. Each child also had an opportunity to have their faces painted, and received little goodie bags with toothbrushes. If you would like to receive a free child safety journal and a home DNA identification kit, please come by to Dr. Susan D. Wells Dentistry at 309 Louisa Street, Warrior, AL 35180, or for more information call the office at (205) 647-2050. | Blountsville Historical Society P.O. Dr. Wells, who has practiced in Warrior for 29 years, and her staff wanted to express their appreciation for all veterans this November 11th by helping our local heroes. Dr. Wells initiated a fundraiser involving patients and colleagues to help VVA Chapter 416. This organization was chartered on January 2, 1990 with the purpose of perpetuating the spirit of brotherhood among the Vietnam Veterans in this area. The Chapter since then has become involved in many diverse activities which service not only Veterans in this area, but war widows and orphans, and holiday food baskets for the elderly. The main focus of Chapter 416 is to display the Alabama Vietnam Veterans Moving Memorial that carries the names of 1209 Alabamian heroes. The most recent display was on November 10th, 2008, at the Piggly Wiggly parking lot in Warrior. Dr. Wells and the whole North Jefferson area thank all veterans, anywhere and everywhere for their unselfish and courageous service to our country. If you would like to make a donation to the Alabama Vietnam Moving Memorial, please send your donation to 1610 Pinson Valley Parkway, Tarrant, Alabama 35217.
